Global Warming Initiative
2005 Global Warming Initiative started their activities in collaboration with Kikwetu Association and UNEP. Planting 150 trees along Thika road during the World Environment Day.
2006 5th June GWI planted over 100 trees at the Mathare mental hospital and had an exhibition at the Village Market which attracted over three hundred participants.
2007 5th June still on the World Environment Day, Climate Change Orchestra held a musical concert at the Alliance Française auditorium.
GWI artistes Network focuses on art as a reflection of human activities

The initiative is a collaboration of all Organizations who wants to use the medium of performing arts as a tool to educate communities on the preservation of the environment

Robin James Mategwa:
Born in 1976 along side the edge of equatorial forest of Kakamega western Kenya. He is an environmentalist activist found member of Kakamega friends of nature, which was established in 1996 to save and work along with communities to sustain the nature. 2005 started Global Warming Initiative activities in collaboration with Kikwetu Association and UNEP, during the World Environment Day when150 trees were planted along Thika road. As in 2006, 5th June over 100 trees were planted at the Mathare mental hospital with an exhibition at the Village Market which attracted over three hundred participants. James is also a musician, poet member of Climate Change Orchestra.

Oscar Adema:
Born in 1980, attended Maseno University graduated in 2005. Joined Kenya Performing Arts Group (www.kenyaarts.com) as the marketing publicity manager and was responsible for spearheading its activities that included Da Factory Club and Nairobi International Arts Festival (NIFTA) in 2006. Oscar is also the force behind the Unlimited Boarders Tour in 2007 when he creates Others Production Dance Company together with Fortunejade Okhobo and Papa Omugataya.

Estelle Lannoy:
Born in 1972 in France, professional comedian and musician-accordionist performs from 1990 in Paris, Germany, Nederland’s and Poland as a student of Derevo Company www.derevo.org 6 years in Bruxelles with the theatre director Xavier Lukomski www.2eaux.be. Since 2004, with Yunasi band from Kenya www.yunasi.com toured in Australia, Thailand, Belgium, Zanzibar and many other festivals in Africa. Won BBC award “The next big thing” in December 2007. Plays now with Climate Change Orchestra who held their first concert during the World environment day of 2007 at Alliance Française in Nairobi.
